Polycarbonate is colorless and transparent, heat resistant, impact resistant, flame retardant, and has good mechanical properties at normal service temperatures. In addition to this, it has good impact resistance, a high refractive index, good processability, and UL94 V-2 flame retardant properties.

The Feature of Polycarbonate Pellets 

• Protection from UV Radiations: Polycarbonates can be designed to block ultraviolet radiation and provide 100% protection from harmful UV rays.  
• Optical Nature: For having an amorphous structure, PC offers excellent optical properties. The refractive index of clear polycarbonate is 1.584.
• Chemical Resistance: Polycarbonate exhibits good chemical resistance against diluted acids, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and alcohols; moderate chemical resistance against oils and greases. PC is readily attacked by diluted alkalis, and aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons. Manufacturers recommend cleaning PC sheets with certain cleaning agents which do not affect their chemical nature. It is sensitive to abrasive alkaline cleaners.
• Heat Resistance: Offering good heat resistance, Polycarbonates are thermally stable up to 135°C. Further heat resistance can be improved by adding flame retardants without impacting material properties.

The Application of Polycarbonate Pellets 

• Optical lighting: used in the manufacture of large lampshades, protective glass, and optical instruments, such as the left and right eyepiece barrel, but also widely used in aircraft transparent materials.
• Electronic appliances: polycarbonate is an excellent E (120 ℃) level insulation material, used to manufacture insulated connectors, coil frames, telephone shells, and parts, etc. It can also be used to make parts with high dimensional accuracy, such as optical discs, telephones, electronic computers, and other communication equipment. Polycarbonate thin touch is also widely used as capacitors, audio tapes, etc.
• Machinery and equipment: used to manufacture a variety of gears, racks, bolts, etc., can also be used for some mechanical parts shields, covers and frames, and other parts.
• Medical equipment: cups, tubes, bottles, dental instruments, drug containers, and surgical instruments for medical use, and even artificial kidneys, artificial lungs, and other artificial organs.
